Jennifer King is a Los Angeles-based ceramic sculptor and designer of unique tableware and decorative accessories. She offers her collections of handcrafted mugs, bowls and vases through retailers, and directly to consumers. She also creates site-specific statement pieces for residential, hospitality and executive spaces, and restaurant dinnerware to commission.
Much of Jennifer’s work concerns the deconstruction and reassembly of forms. Her sculptural pieces and vessels have a distinctive dimensionality to them, with idiosyncratic, graphic surfaces. The layering and overlapping of forms, and painterly finishes, set her work apart. One can see a dialogue between her sculptural and functional pieces, both of which speak to her passion for primitivism and folk art.
Jennifer received her BFA in ceramics from the University of CO, Boulder, where she studied with Betty Woodman. She is also a freelance graphic designer with clients in the entertainment industry.
